The Norwegian family-owned fishing boat company Halstensen was founded in 1897. From our location in Bekkjarvik, a small community at the western coastline of Norway, we started pelagic fishing, especially herring. As a consequence, we developed our skills in salting of herring, cod, saithe and also the production of barrels for salted herring.

As the years went by, we saw new opportunities in larger and more modern boats with longer range. Hence, the whole production was set onboard.

Today, our fleet consists of four vessels. Our shipping company is one of the oldest and largest
of its kind in Norway.
